Where are DJ's???

What happened to the DJ? Someone once called the DJ the "big brother" of Hip Hop" It seems like a term that would have some in that spot in full command. In the days of samplers, PC programs and digital samplers the party starter can be anyone with a laptop and hard drive full of songs. Long gone are the days of the wax warriors who dug in store after store digging for the most obscure break, vocal or instrumental stab. Where are ou crate diggers? I miss my big brother.
